Leandro Bassano

Leandro Bassano belonged to a large, important family of painters active in Veneto and in Venice. They painted religious scenes with a domestic interpretation, introducing livestock and various animals. Leandro’s portrait was acquired by Cardinal Leopoldo de’ Medici in 1675 in Venice.
